It’s the first day of AERO 2016 in Friedrichshafen, Germany, and already interest is keen in Djimitrij Karpenko’s amphib Sportsman. An airplane this beautiful just can’t help but draw attention. We’re told by Glasair Av staff on hand that it’s the only float-equipped aircraft in the show. Pretty cool.

European fans admire Dmitrij Karpenko’s Glasair Aviation Sportsman. The Sportsman accommodates a variety of undercarriages, including floats, floats with wheels, and tricycle- and two-wheel configurations.

We’ve received other great news today from the show as well: Continental Motors reports that the time between overhaul for its diesel engine has increased from 1,200 all the way to 2,100 hours. That’s big news for Sportsman Diesel customers, especially in Europe where avgas is both expensive and hard to find.
