Another TWTT Sportsman Flies Home!

Recent Two Weeks To Taxi builder Tom Falls reports on his cross-country journey to bring his new Sportsman home from the Glasair factory:

“The plane performed flawlessly for the most part. The only issue we had with the plane was our self-induced ground delay at Pendleton, OR Wednesday morning due to my inexperience starting an injected engine. Thanks for your help with that Ben. I think the trick is to open the throttle 3/4” instead of 1/4″ and quickly move my left hand from the ignition to the throttle as the right hand works the mixture. Seems to work so far anyway. Low ceilings affected our flight plans for the whole trip. 18 hours of flying and about 2400nm total. Departure Tuesday morning from KAWO and arrival at S17 Saturday afternoon. Tuesday we had to divert to KPDT due the low ceilings. Friday we spent all day in a hotel due to weather. Thank you and your wonderful team for fulfilling a dream!”
