JOB TITLE: Paint & Bodywork Technician


REPORTS TO: Director of Manufacturing

Scope: The successful candidate will be responsible for metal prep, providing shop help as needed and masking all required parts and airplanes. Normal business hours are Mon-Thurs, 6am4:30pm, however, MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prep aerospace components and aviation parts per customer blueprints and specifications
  • Bodywork composite fuselage and fairings
  • Mask aircraft in preparation for primer and paint
  • Prime both metal and composite components
  • Apply customer-specified schemes
  • Buff and final detail on finished products
  • Inspect and monitor equipment for unsafe operations
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Skills, Traits and Experience:

  • Experience in bodywork and surface preparation
  • Enjoys the art of taking a scheme from paper to finished product
  • Ability to identify imperfections and remedy them
  • Ability to use good judgement and have good problem solving skills
  • Experience with aerospace materials and procedures is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills – must be a team player
  • Ability to work at both a fast paced and high quality level
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow manufacturing plans

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Frequently able to lift or move 60 lbs
  • Exposure to indoor manufacturing environment; chemicals, fumes, dust and moderate noise
  • Constantly standing or walking throughout the day
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms; constant use of hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull,feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools
